  Why waste my time writing a long comment, finding references, etc just to have it flagged in a few minutes? They way I've written it is more than enough to convey what I mean.

Maybe in your world, but not for me (and I suspect many others). It seems like you are apprehensive to say what you actually mean for some reason.

      By looking at your profile I've been here on HN for longer than you. And experience has taught me that something that goes against the echo chamber gets flagged. Sometimes there's a comment that survives, but that's rare. If you have never that happen to you, congratulations on having the "right" opinions. :)
