The 1TB SSD I bought for gaming in my new computer suddenly feels very small.
- kungtotte 8y agoDestiny 2 was released for free a while ago. I gave it a pass because it requires 100+ GB for a full installation. For one game.
- teddyfrozevelt 8y agoIt's still free, and you can redeem it to your Blizzard account just by opening the Blizzard app. https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/blizzard/22649418/destiny-2-pc-free-on-battle-net-through-november-18 https://news.blizzard.com/en-us/blizzard/22649418/destiny-2-...
- kungtotte 8y agoIt's also still 100GB. I have a 500GB drive for my games. I can't justify burning 20% of it for a single game.
- barrow-rider 8y ago54GB is going to crowd your 1TB? Plus how much of that 54 is going to overwrite or replace the existing code?
- caymanjim 8y agoThe full install is 96GB. 10% of a disk for one game. That doesn't mean it's not worth it, but it's notable.
- softawre 8y agoIt's not, it is half that size. 96GB is only a thing when you have both the install and the game files on the disk (but then the install is deleted).
- wtetzner 8y agoEven so, 5% is a lot for one game. Even if you use the hard drive for only games, if all of the games you wanted to install were that size, you'd be limited to 20 games. On a 1TB hard drive.
- wccrawford 8y agoI have a 1tb main drive (SSD hybrid, IIRC) with all my games installed and a 2tb external drive with things that don't need to be fast, like video and audio. They're both full. I got down to 8gb on my main drive the other day and had to uninstall a bunch of crap. I've had this drive a few years now. If I did it today, I'd definitely buy a larger one.
