This is the perfect example of why unconstrained self interest and greed are destructive for the ecosystems that sustain them.
There are no limits to greed and that's why there are serious constraints on all sorts of things that can damage the commons and why the only legitimate force is the common good.
And a lesson for the tech community who have seen first hand the rapid transformation of seemingly well meaning ethical actors into self obsessed exploitative bad actors completely divorced from ethics.
