Whoever wrote this goes into detail about how Google should not be trusted with this app, and they will now have the power to post your personal information online. This app could prove helpful to doctors and nurses. I do agree with the author that it is scary that a multi-million internet company will have access to medical information, but the thing is that hospitals have been using internet-based devices for storing patient information for years. Technically, Google could have already had access to all of this information (they wouldn't because that is illegal). We also have no idea how this app works, it could in end to end encryption, which means that Google could not get the information if they tried. We have no idea what Google's plans are, but I am fairly sure they will not be breaking any HIPPA laws.
