I thought this was about algorithms and data structures which made me curious. But the article is about how intentionally or accidentally sloppy data analysis or processing should be regulated if it can have a large impact on people or lead them to erroneous conclusions. Same could probably be suggested for using amateur statistics used to back up claims, any claims.
