- anigbrowl 16y agoI didn't (in fact, have an upvote), but although many are not liable for income tax most people pay some kind of tax - sales tax, or payroll tax, or state tax. You are right to point out that a good chunk of the population will make a net gain, but many of them will only do so because they're very poor. Some poor people are lazy, but it doesn't follow that all poor people are freeloaders. Unfortunately, less honest people than you have made a lot of spin out of those statistics, for a variety of political ends.
