Ah, OK, I think I worked out what is happening. I have a valet service running for local Laravel development which is redirecting local .dev subdomains to Valet instances on my iMac!
Apologies for that - I will shut down the Valet service and try again.

Recommend that you update: https://github.com/laravel/valet/pull/436 https://github.com/laravel/valet/pull/436 Although that might only change the default for new installs; you might still need to change it for existing installs. I'm not sure; I've never used Laravel.
