Get ready to be disappointed then :) I bought an X1 less than 2 months ago (after 8 years of MacBooks) for the same reason: it _has_ to be better quality. I take extremely good care of my laptops, but nonetheless after 3 weeks the screen was scratched, because when it's closed the lid pushes against the keyboard leaving marks (and eventually scratches) on the glossy HDR display. Also the lid doesn't close properly [0] on one side, which just drives me crazy. For a $2000 laptop, I am pretty disappointed.
