- mempko 8y agoAfghan and Iraq wars were part of US War on Terror. Without those wars, there be no civilian deaths.... from those wars.
- emilsedgh 8y agoWhy? They used to be quite stable. Hadn't US decided to invade them, no civil war would've happened. Particularly, regarding Iraq, it was US' decision to disarm Saddam's army and start from scratch, creating a huge void that allowed the civil war and ISIS to rise.
- runn1ng 8y agoCharacterising Afghanistan pre-invasion as "stable" is bold. They had civil war through the whole 90s and were ruled by either warlords or Talebs. US invasion didn't help, but it wasn't stable in any sense of the word before that
- NTDF9 8y agoSeriously, just because they lived different ways of life with different set of problems doesnt meant they're unstable. Would you characterize America as unstable today when the country is divided over so man different lines? If no, why are those countries deemed unstable that only America can fix them? If yes, why should other countries "invade" America to bring stability? Why should America be the decider of other countries stability?
