- empath75 8y ago50% is far from being a monopoly. AT&T had 100% of phone service. Google has 90% of the search market. Windows 95 had something like 95% market share. Those are monopolies. Amazon may have a monopoly on some market segments like books, but they’re far from having a monopoly in online retail.
