Then maybe he should have written the book! I know this sounds unreasonable, and perhaps it is, but I have a non-trivial amount of bitterness stemming from regret at following articles like this that, in retrospect, did not apply to me.

Such book would be really cool. An optimist in me imagines that if a person would read the whole book instead of just the chapter aimed at them specifically, they'd gain a lot of appreciation and sympathy for hardships people in various trades and in various life situations face.
