I've lived and worked in a fair few cities and the two cities which spring to the top of my mind which can take in a significant influx of talent/people/work from various industries and not be "monopolized" by a single industry are London and NYC. I actually haven't come across any other broadly comparable cities in these sort of metrics. At least, that's my first hand opinion.
