Media literacy, or more broadly critical thinking skills, is good to teach but hard to apply in practice when it comes to the news. This is because we get our news so fast, and in so many places, it's hard to slow down and evaluate pieces in-depth. Pardon the self-serving comment but given the relevance, I hope it's useful.
