We delivered fertilizer to our customers in rural Kenya. We rented 10 ton lorries, hired trucks, and set up distribution points around rural schools and churches. For two weeks, we literally schlepped tons of fertilizer.
- nowarninglabel 8y agoNeat project. I wonder if our agricultural borrowers / partners in Kenya should be talking to you.
- estsauver 8y agoI think our partnerships manager is talking with you guys right now actually!
- cimmanom 8y agoWhat was the business you were building, and did it eventually scale? How?
- manglav 8y agoHi e :) that's awesome! Seems like things are going well!
- estsauver 8y agoHey V! It's been a long time since The climate corporation. I hope you're doing well!
- jedberg 8y agoIt's ok, this is the internet. You can say that you literally schlepped tons of shit for your customers. :)
- estsauver 8y ago:) Fortunately for us, it was DAP (planting fertilizer) and CAN (topdress fertilizer). The nice thing about Kenyan agriculture is that most farmers, if they have a cow, already are making sure to use their manure. The bad news is there's not nearly enough cows making nearly enough poop in Kenya to provide the nitrogen the crops need. We're literally shit out of luck... :)
- TeMPOraL 8y agoYou're literally the first startup I know that sells tons of shit at scale, for which this is a positive description :).
