If you run all your customer's daily batch jobs at the same time, I hope you charge extra for that time slot. I'd simply spread out these jobs over time and have customers pay to get specific timeslots, which you can fill costs for the baremetal servers. And when not in direct use, you can surely find something else for the server to run on it's CPU (or simply put it in standby and do WoL when needed).
