Wouldn't MMP at the Federal level require Provincial consent (1982 Constitution Act, sections 41a & 44) using the 7/10 & 50%+1 amendment formula?
- winstonewert 8y agoThe proposals I've seen do MMP separately in each province, (so the overall results is roughly proportional) to avoid this.
- scj 8y agoDo they change seat count? If not, do they compensate PEI for the senatorial clause?
- winstonewert 8y agoNo they don't change the seat count. PEI would still be over-represented in these schemes.
