How to Play Long Video Games When You Have No Time
- olliej 8y agoThe killer for me has always been reduction to save points vs arbitrary save times. If you have other responsibilities you often need to just immediately stop what you’re doing, and for a save point style game that means losing progress. I recognize that arbitrary saves are increasingly difficult, but if an open world game like Skyrim can manage it, so can an FPS.
- Doxin 8y ago> arbitrary saves are increasingly difficult They aren't. Using save points is a game design decision. If you allow a player to save at any point it becomes very easy to "cheat" by saving progress in the right places.
