Fedora changes nothing about its KDE spin.
- mindcrime 8y agoToday. But it's not hard to see the writing on the wall. If the mothership isn't interested in KDE, it's hard to believe that Fedora will continue to put any energy into it. Maybe the volunteer community keeps it alive, but one can't really be optimistic about Fedora KDE in light of this.
- Conan_Kudo 8y agoFedora KDE has always been supported primarily by the volunteer community. It was an outgrowth of the original "Red Hat KDE" work that Rex Dieter and other community members did for the original Red Hat Linux. The fact that KDE was in RHEL for so long was a blessing that is sadly no more. :(
- rrix2 8y agoLike jriddell says in tfa, it opens up the door to the fedora-kde community managing the KDE packages through EPEL*. This seems like a win to me, all around, minus Rex and the crew having more packages to maintain.
