With this, I disagree for 2 reasons:
1) If your devs had to prove themselves technically via hiring process and you didn't, then your technical chops are potentially not up to scratch and devs have to tolerate inferior noise. Ditto with architecture input.
2) The easiest fix isn't always correct. Not having day to day knowledge of the code base means you're more likely to implement something substandard.
