I'm sorry to be that guy, but I really think blockchain offers solutions to these types of coordination problems. For example, Aragon just launched their mainnet today. They made a platform that allows distributed collaboration between groups of people. I think this could potentially reduce bureaucracy and reduce the time between idea and implementation. I have zero stake in Aragon btw, I just find it fascinating and it gives me some hope that humans can come together to positively affect the world.
- hamiltonkibbe 8y agoHow does Aragon's effectiveness for this compare to e.g a Google Docs spreadsheet?
- gibsons77 8y agoIt can handle economic decisions within an organization using democracy, or multi-sigs to a few trusted individuals. It's also connected to Web 3.0, so you have all of the benefits of being within the ethereum ecosystem.
- archagon 8y agoCrypto could also become one of the biggest contributors to climate change, since it’s literally just wasting as much energy as possible to make money.
- agumonkey 8y agoyeah, I don't buy the future of crypto. Too many cons (energy and other) not enough pros.
- gibsons77 8y agoThe monetary system itself is a big contributor or climate change. Kings used to require empires in order to protect their gold stores. I think securing the longest PoW (or PoS) chain is a very good use of resources, as it's tantamount to a king protecting his gold.
