I think we need to see the overall efficiency first. As I understand it this process requires that you generate electricity then use that electricity to produce proteins. I suspect that good old plants may be more efficient. This technology may be more useful in space and/or in circumstances where lack of growing space is the overwhelming factor. Also, since the production is food the overall cycle is carbon neutral.
