I have no sympathy for DeVaul's behavior. Based on what I know of the details of the situation, I probably would have supported his firing at the time of the incident. I might still now. However, since he has been allowed to continue to work there, has his behavior reformed or not? If it has, then it's not clear what benefit there would be in his firing now.
