Does anyone know if the iPad pro will support a mouse via USB-C or Bluetooth?
- softinio 8y agothis mouse already works with the ipad: https://www.swiftpoint.com/store/swiftpoint-gt-mouse-2/ https://www.swiftpoint.com/store/swiftpoint-gt-mouse-2/ I haven't tried it just came across it the other day
- saagarjha 8y agoHow so? iOS doesn’t have a cursor.
- sorahn 8y agoThat only works with their vnc software. So, mouse on windows, through remote desktop running on the ipad. The iPad itself still has no concept of a cursor.
- softinio 8y agoOh I didn't realize that. Thanks for clarifying. Funny good old HN I lost a point for not knowing that though I mentioned I came across and never used this product lol.
- larkost 8y agoNo, it will not. The UI Frameworks do not support the concept of a cursor (except for text entry, where it is a bit different than on a computer).
- sorahn 8y agoSomething in the simulator supports a mouse, so I wonder if it's down in the code somewhere, just not enabled.
- saagarjha 8y agomacOS passes mouse events to the simulator app, which translates them into touch events. Unless you’re talking about something else?
- sorahn 8y agoThat is what i'm talking about, but I didn't know if it was macos doing it or what. I've seen videos where there is a faint circle representing where the cursor is and then it 'touches' the screen. shrug I just wasn't sure if that was part of the ipad itself (like maybe accessibility) or all from the simulator.
