26% of 3400 respondents to a survey in May had deleted the app from their phones at some point in the preceding year.

They're referencing this survey: http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/09/05/americans-are-changing-their-relationship-with-facebook/ http://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2018/09/05/americans-ar... The 26% number is adults, total. The 44% number is people 18-29.
