This was the first I heard of QUIC - having dealt a lot with crypto libraries, https, TLS etc. it sounds super promising. Gets rid of a lot of old-cipher cruft and TLS latency, bake security into to the transport, multiplex connections etc. Some really cool ideas there.

- lucb1e 8y agoI heard of it before and later also got it in school (wouldn't recommend the study but this one subject by Paola Grosso was superb). Definitely cool stuff.
- ori_b 8y agoLet's see a few independent implementations before we start using it. As far as I can tell, this is also horrendously complicated, and I'm not aware of any implementations outside of Google's.
