The revolution in France wasnt until several years after the US war against the British was over.
- toyg 8y agoThe French monarchy had to be dragged into the war, it was public opinion that, swayed by public campaigns from leading American figures, pushed for intervention: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France_in_the_American_Revolutionary_War#Debate_over_quiet_aid_or_declaring_open_war https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/France_in_the_American_Revolut... Much of that same public opinion would then go on to power the French revolution a few years later. Lafayette famously wrote the "Déclaration des droits de l'homme" with Thomas Jefferson's help. Both revolutions had common ideological grounds - Enlightenment and democracy.
