I live in Raleigh too and work downtown. When walking on the sidewalks I've almost been run over by scooters about 8 times and been hit twice by jackets flying behind and to the side of the rider. I was okay but it did hurt. All of my coworkers hate the things and some of them are ready to ban them. For the first 2 months everyone I saw on a scooter was riding them on sidewalks. It seems to have gotten better in the last 2 months with scooter riders in the roads.
