I see countervailing views to things like gay marriage all the time on Twitter. I don't however need "countervailing" views for the extermination of jews.

I'm sure people who visit Gab also spend time on other websites. Nobody visits just one site. The "bubbles are evil" thing is a bad "received idea" that's going around. Here's an article that came out this month: https://www.bellingcat.com/news/americas/2018/10/11/memes-infowars-75-fascist-activists-red-pilled/ https://www.bellingcat.com/news/americas/2018/10/11/memes-in... Notice the high percentage of people who came to their beliefs via Youtube and 4chan, etc. It's more appealing for a normal person to visit a website that contains both racist claptrap and something else, than it is to be bombarded by nothing but racist claptrap. Bubbles are the solution, not the problem. The evil thing about social networks today is they make it too easy to request a cake recipe, but wind up with a David Duke speech.

This is also a problem with twitter and reddit too. It's one group of extremists on twitter and reddit pushing another group of extremists to other sites. Lets not pretend that twitter and reddit are any less toxic and extremist ( especially the political material ). That's what one sided censorship gets you. Extremist echo chambers. It's not just the far right. It's the far left, the vegans, atheists and any other extremes.

In general I agree with this, but there's an extremity of ideology beyond which the principle no longer functions, and these people are, in my opinion, comfortably over that line.
