- ben0x539 8y agoI suspect in advance of the 1990s it was a problem to people who specifically cared about such things, and would read or write papers on the topic. In the 1990s it started to become a problem for a lot of people who really only cared about putting their programs on a widely-accessible network. ;)
- jeremyjh 8y agoI don't think many people were aware of the security implications of these practices before the late 90s.
