When will MS stop taking money away from the developers by making Visual Studio priced with hefty charges?
I still can't believe they're just making a barrier to entry by charging people who are going to help their ecosystem better and bigger.
- dingle_thunk 8y agoThey're basically pushing people towards .net core (FLOSS) and VS Code (FLOSS), plus providing Visual Studio Community edition for free if you're making less than $2m/yr.
- h1d 8y agoMS only limits the possibility of developers by having confusing "editions" again on VS. No idea what the point of splitting the user base to slow down the adoption and the growth of global knowledge base.
