Google abandons Berlin campus plans after two years of resistance
- kerng 8y agoInteresting, I remember reading about this before and how upset some locals were. On one side it's good to see that money can't buy everything.
- Kuraj 8y agoGoogle awareness seems to be very strong in Berlin. We visited last year and saw a lot of materials for this campaign.
- DanielleMolloy 8y agoThis would have been a fantastic opportunity for the Berlin IT scene. But ideological stupidity and extremism have won. Apparently there were threats of violence against Google employees. I still fail to understand their "points" against having a startup campus on their badly written website: https://fuckoffgoogle.de/#g-entrification https://fuckoffgoogle.de/#g-entrification They don't seem to know what they are protesting against. What is so great about Kreuzberg? Every time I have to travel over Kotti I am scared, this place is a shithole.
