Agreed. I'm sometimes the "adventurer", insisting to the random NPCs of the office that I'll get their quests done. But as anyone who has played such a game knows, the random NPCs' quests aren't always the most important thing to do. "Should I fight Ganon, or find this dude's missing cucco?" The cucco moves up the list if the NPC makes it clear I'll get a badass sword or something that will help with the whole Ganon thing.
