Reminds me of Van Halen and the infamous "no brown M&M's" clause of their contracts. They didn't really care about M&M color, but they did care that people setting up shows were paying close attention to detail because the shows had lots of complicated equipment and effects that could be dangerous if not set up properly. If they saw brown M&M's, they knew the contract wasn't being followed and stripped everything down to do a safety check.
