I.e. if you are one of those legendary cobol-cowboys, used to several thousands dollars a man-day, it is likely that the market-rate for i.e. backend dev in most other technology stacks will be lower. At least look at glassdoor? If the pay seems under the market-rate, negotiate or let it be.
