Because they're having exactly the same driving experience as you while being tens of thousands of dollars better off?

Don't forget about how nice it is to give zero fucks about your car. "oh, gotta load a dirty lawnmower into the trunk, idgaf" "oh, the bushes on this dirt road are overgrown and will scratch my paint, idgaf" "gotta haul trash lumber to the dump, looks like a case of idgaf"
- rootusrootus 8y agoYeah, I own an old pickup for all of that. Having a new car also has upsides.
- tk75x 8y agoI never understood this attitude. You should always "gaf" because taking care of your tools is a good thing to do, not treat them like crap and then complain when they break or don't function correctly.
- leetcrew 8y agodo you also smirk while you're having "exactly the same dining experience" at applebee's?
- rootusrootus 8y agoWell, to be fair, I doubt very much someone in a 2003 anything, much less a Toyota, is having the same driving experience I'm having in a brand new Camaro SS ;-) Honestly, I've owned my share of old cars. Everything has a cost, sometimes it's money, sometimes it's hassle, etc. The marginal extra cost of a new vehicle is a rounding error financially at this point, so the biggest value is not having to worry about anything.
