Then most people got phones with some sort of mapping program, and could buy a plastic mount that would hold them on the dashboard. Cars are phenomenally expensive mechanical devices that can work for 20 years, while portable computers often become outdated in less than 5. Bundling the two is just cruel, even worse than selling hot dog buns in 8-packs and hot dogs in 10-packs...
