There's enough ability to go around. Let the Raytheon's of the country employ their share of bright folks who willfully signed up for defense work become increasingly beholden to DoD contracts. Furthermore, it's not really in the best interests of the general public to have already too-powerful tech companies running the largest and most omnipresent domestic surveillance systems becoming increasingly dependent on defense budgets. Those contracts give the government more leverage over the companies they fund and create more conflicts of interests.
