Awful title. It's a projection that the US will drop that far in the future. It hasn't dropped that far as the clickbait implies.
- mcny 8y agoI have to agree. I suggest we replace the title by a modified version of the by-line: > By 2040, an average American’s lifespan is projected to rise from 78.7 to 79.8 years, an increase of just 1.1 years (lower than a projected average of 4.4 years for the world)
