Reverse engineering is possible here, but will result in ban/lawsuit after it gains some traction.
How they're gonna do that then? No idea.
Still I dream about alternative client every say
- supermdguy 8y agoSpotify has a playback SDK[0]. It's meant for web use, but it could probably be used to create a custom native player. You'd just need to have a webview somewhere. - SSLy 8y agoIIRC this is used by Clementine, a QT-based desktop player.

- dewey 8y agoApple Music also has a player SDK via MusicKit if I understand it correctly. Some people already build third party players and web interfaces.
