There's not really a social graph for usenet, though, is there? Usenet is "file first", not "people first" like Andre discussed in his talk. Usenet seem too brittle, too centralized to ultimately become a decentralized social network. To achieve the use cases proposed in the video you'd have to implement a whole new layer on top of Usenet anyway.
