I can imagine 50 vs 60+ would make a big difference...In the case of the latter they are much closer to retirement (potentially <5 years vs 15-16 years). Not saying it should be that way but I bet some people will think a >60 year old may just look to hang around/coast for a few years waiting for retirement.
