  I was 14 in 1989 when my Dad and I were watching TV and they switched over to show East and West Germans breaking through the wall and hugging each other. I remember watching for hours because I knew I was watching history being made.

    Me too. I did not understand fully what was going on, but I remember the excitement and optimism that hung in the air.
