alias wu='telnet rainmaker.wunderground.com'
alias weather='(sleep 0.5; echo "\n"; sleep 0.5; echo "EWR\n"; sleep 1; echo "x\n") | wu'
- wuyishan 8y agoThanks for sharing this. This is great! It even has an interactive shell. Unfortunately US only and likely soon to be gone... I normally use wttr.in, but telnet is way more old-school cool :)
- bertjk 8y agoHaha this is so awesome. I know what feature my impending weather-related app must have now..
- latentpot 8y agoHigh chances no bluey person is even aware this exists, let alone find the physical location of this system.
- gmiller123456 8y agoCool. Now I'm tempted to have a background process run ever so often to add the current weather to my prompt.
- LeoPanthera 8y agoIt uses http rather than telnet, but wttr.in is a practical replacement for this: https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in https://github.com/chubin/wttr.in
- morpheuskafka 8y agoKeep it to yourself, and it will probably go another 10 years before someone in the IBM behemoth discovers it to shut it down.
