I didn't even think of that, but you're right. The whole "evangelist" term, for tech, really did start popping up around the iPod era. My first conscious memory was the lead up to Adobe CS5. At the time, I thought it was weird, but funny, that they had "evangelists" for different products. Then, CS6 came around, I heard it again and I never flinched. Amazing how that shit can creep up slowly, then take over.
