- throwaway5752 8y agoNo, really, I would like to cosign with your comment. Who in the f--k needs a bagel emoji? Who is picky about that emoji? How did I even lose 15 seconds to commenting about this?
- reaperducer 8y agoWho in the f--k needs a bagel emoji? People who live in New York. Or Palm Springs. Or a few other cities I can think of would certainly use it more than the sushi emoticon.
- astrange 8y agoI need it in California so I can explain why the bread toruses in Safeway aren't real bagels.
- wild_preference 8y agoBecause you care enough to make it about you and signal to the rest of us how little you ostensibly care. You found a way to feed your ego from a silly post about bagel emoji. I know that's a hard take, but that's exactly what just happened, disgusted under a thin veil of protest. We do it all the time. ;)
- throwaway5752 8y agoI think you're giving me too much credit.
- vanadium 8y agoChalk it up to where we're at in 2018, I suppose.
- askafriend 8y agoWhat is there to wrap your head around? You can send people a cute little bagel when you message them. It's funny. It's entertaining. Makes life a little more interesting. Don't lose your sense of humor, or get too jaded as you age. The world has it's flaws but I hope we can all find some small joy in things like emoji.

- 0xffff2 8y agoIt's not that. The question is who cares whether the cute little bagel has cream cheese or not?
- sebazzz 8y agoIt is a good thing I suppose, it means some of us don't have bigger worries than that.
- jarfil 8y agoNot all that good when there are quite the few bigger worries affecting all of us... but some would rather care about what's on a bagel emoji.
- oneeyedpigeon 8y agoJust because people care about one thing, it doesn't mean that they don't care about other things, or even that they care less about other things.
- function_seven 8y agoDo you routinely eat bagels dry? I don't think most of us do. Having the emoji show a barren surface is a great insult to those of us who enjoy bagels. It was not cute until they fixed this terrible error.

- reaperducer 8y agoIIRC, Google fixing its magic beer emoticon was one of the high points of a recent developer's conference.
- jryan49 8y agoIt's okay, it's normal. The older you get the more outraged you will be at everything. The bright side of it all is that at least you'll be dead soon.
- Sharlin 8y agoI wonder how many nouns will eventually get their own pictogram. How abstract can you go? Or verbs and adjectives, for that matter. After all, there's plenty of room in Unicode.
- dx87 8y agoMe neither. It reminds me of a post I saw a while ago where a Google employee was super excited to announce the redesign of their salad emoji. The only difference was that they removed the hard boiled egg from the emoji because they said it wasn't inclusive enough of vegans and vegetarians.
- oneeyedpigeon 8y agoVegetarians eat eggs.
- gnulinux 8y agoI mean, emoji was never meant to be serious. Why would I wanna send my friend bunch of yellow faces or a tiny image of bagel if I'm being serious? Just entertainment.
