Surprised public API availability is not listed.
- mappu 8y agoThis is a pretty important category for me. Users are actually pretty happy to migrate to new chat systems (with clear benefits) if you can pull off a gradual migration with seamless chat linking. I did a gradual migration of our group chat from $LEGACY_CHAT_SYSTEM to Telegram because at the time, all the options with better crypto stories fell down; WhatsApp is very anti-bot, Wire's API was unusable on free accounts, Signal's group chats work differently / would've needed O(n) phone numbers, Rocketchat's IRC integration was incompatible, Matrix couldn't be simplified to hide the federation for standalone, etc etc.
