What country are you in, because in NL the highest bracket will be 49,50% from 70k and onward. Most people, with deductions and stuff, will pay around 1/3 taxes on their salary. Going up if you earn more. >Dissapointingly it doesn’t convert to exceptional public services or social mobility. I disagree with that. Some European countries _do_ have excellent services.
