Doesn't matter. What matters is whether the idea has engineering utility.
Jeff Hawkins is not a Biologist or a Neuroscientist (though he would probably qualify) trying to explain how the brain works. He is an Engineer using whatever bits he sees as potentially useful.

- tree_of_item 8y agoNo, I think that's the route DeepMind and the rest went with. Jeff Hawkins seems to want the more biologically plausible model.
