I'd argue that Southwest already did so. This fall I recently started flying again after having not flown since 1999, and I've been making it a point to only fly Southwest because they're the only airline that's even remotely consumer friendly.

Southwest is a pretty great experience. I wish I could use them more.

Alaska is also quite consumer friendly, in my experience.
