But "monolith" is a concept of bad stuff so everyone must get away from it, apparently. The thing is, they're just throwing this word around, before the micro-service trend "monolith" to me meant software with no boundaries, modules, design, like it solidified in a bad state, to which the antidote was design. Seeing this word being used to describe "not running micro-service architecture" gives me feels of lobby/marketing manipulation in the craft, this is plain bullshit. If the application is well designed, it is not a monolith! If it's well designed then it has well defined pieces and well defined API then if you need to micro-service anything you can just plug it out, it still is just a fucking API, you could be calling it by pigeon carrier, it doesn't matter. Having basic software development concepts being pushed, or positioned, as trendy pricey buzzword-manager-throws-around hot-architecture concern is nothing more than a corruption of the craft.
Damn fools.
